3D Print Care & Handling

Printed in Cedar, Minnesota by DS3D

3D printed items sold by AlyKat's Bakery are made with PLA (Polylactic Acid) filament — a plant-based, eco-friendly plastic that’s strong and smooth, but needs a little TLC to stay beautiful.

Handling Tips

  • Avoid heat: PLA can warp or soften above ~120°F (50°C). Keep it away from cars in summer, direct sunlight, ovens, or heaters.
  • Gentle cleaning: Wipe with a soft, dry or slightly damp cloth. Avoid alcohol, harsh cleaners, or soaking in water. Handwash only- not dishwasher safe.
  • Don’t bend or twist: PLA is rigid but brittle—excessive force can snap thin parts or edges.
  • Indoor display only: Store and display indoors at room temperature. Moisture and temperature swings can cause cracking over time.
  • If it arrives slightly bent (rare): Briefly warm with a hair dryer on low and gently reshape. Let it cool fully before handling.
  • Cookie Cutters/Food-Safe?: Our cookie cutters are made from food-safe filament, but due to the layer lines of 3D printing, they are not officially certified as food-contact safe.
