I'm so pleased to be able to share my passion for creating edible art with you. I've been baking since I could reach the countertop, always trying new recipes in the kitchen, and started decorating cookies as a creative outlet. I launched AlyKat's Bakery in January 2024 to share my craft in my beloved state of Minnesota. I'm so glad you're here, and thank you for supporting my small business!

This Bakery is for David

In 2023, I made my very first set of decorated cookies for my brother David's 16th birthday. We always bonded over making things together throughout the year, and every holiday season we decorated Christmas cookies side by side with our mom and brother Nick.

In March 2025, we lost David to suicide.

This bakery carries him in everything I make. Every cookie I decorate is connected to those Christmas cookies we made together, to a boy who loved to create, and to the belief that the world needed more of him in it. I started AlyKat's Bakery to share something I loved with the people around me. Now it also exists to honor him and to do some good in his name.

My Story

I live with mental illness. I know what it feels like to have hard days and to struggle in ways other people can't always see. I know what it means to feel unworthy of good things, even something as small as a cookie. That's why this bakery's mission has always been personal to me, long before I knew how personal it would become.

No one should ever feel unworthy of a moment of sweetness. I mean that with everything I have.

Our mission is to provide delicious and unique cookies crafted with love and care, use locally sourced ingredients whenever possible, and help create memories with our edible art. A cookie can be more than a treat. It can be a reminder that you matter, that someone is thinking of you, and that even on the hardest days, there is still something sweet worth holding onto.

Giving Back

Mental Health: NAMI

A portion of every custom order is donated to the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), the nation's largest grassroots mental health organization. NAMI provides education, support, and advocacy for people and families affected by mental illness. I am proud to support this cause in David's memory.

Hearts for Evelyn

I also advocate for a sweet little girl named Evelyn. She is a 5-year-old from North Branch, Minnesota, who has spent much of her young life in the hospital. Evelyn was born with a serious heart condition and has had eight heart surgeries. She is currently at Mayo Clinic on the transplant list as a Status 1A patient, waiting for a heart that will save her life. She is one of the bravest kids I know of, and she deserves a future.

A portion of select orders supports COTA for Evelyn's Heart through the Children's Organ Transplant Association. 100% of every contribution made through COTA goes directly to Evelyn's transplant-related expenses.
